SweepsGoat has only been open for a few days, but we thought it was high time we launched its blog. This is where we will keep you updated on site announcements, featured sweeps, and news from the world of sweepstakes.
Just a Pair of Ol' Goats...
I should probably start off by introducing myself. I'm Billy Mabray, Co-Founder of SweepsGoat, Technology Evangelist at Smart Goat, and Chief Title Maker-Upper at various other sites. Although I've been adding a fair number of sweepstakes to SweepsGoat, most of my work is done under-the-hood. Primarily, I work on adding new features and keeping the site running as smoothly as possible.
My wife, Angela, is the other Co-Founder and the true sweeper in the family. I'm sure she'll post her own introduction soon enough, but I wanted to give her some "advanced" credit for the things we're working on. Right now, SweepsGoat is just your standard "submit and vote" style site. But Angela knew from the very beginning that we would need more than that to be useful to sweepers.
Where this Train is Headed...
That's why we're hard at work on new features for the site. We've got lots of ideas, the first being an "Expired" field to make it easier to know when a particular sweepstakes has expired. We also want to make your "Saved" sweepstakes page more useful by grouping the sweeps by category. If you have any other suggestions feel free to post them here or email us anytime.Besides features, we're also working on a new look for both SweepsGoat and this blog. We thought about waiting until we had our own design or more of the features were done before launching the site. We decided to just put the site out there and let the pressure of having honest-to-goodness users motivate us to get things done faster.
But...But...But...Why?
Our reasons for creating SweepsGoat are pretty simple: We like sweepstakes, and we like building websites. We thought it would be interesting to see if a thriving sweepstakes community could be built around the idea of everyone sharing everything. I believe that the more we all use it, the more we'll all get out of it -- more sweepstakes to enter, more to win, and more like-minded folks to get to know. Will it work? Who knows. But it sure seems like an experiment worth trying. If you like online sweeps I hope you will sign up and take it for a spin.
Good Luck!

Is there a way to un-bury something after you've chosen to bury a sweepstakes (yes, I'm talking about a sweepstakes!) :-0
Sorry, there's no way to un-bury sweeps. You can't have zombie sweeps running around, after all. :-)
You do still have the option of saving a sweepstakes you've buried. It'll be grayed out in your saved listing -- but at least you'll still be able to find it. Hope that helps!
